With over 36 years of experience in the finance industry, over 20 of which spent in leadership roles, I have a wealth of hands-on experience in coaching and mentoring colleagues and other contacts in a wide range of situations and across many geographies.

Having lived and worked in London, Tokyo and Hong Kong during my career, and travelled extensively around the world in my various roles, I have a strong understanding of different cultures as well as the challenges of managing a career path in a multi-jurisdictional organisation.  In my various roles, I have worked extensively with colleagues from many of the major investment banks and financial institutions including Goldman Sachs, JP Morgan, Morgan Stanley, Bank of America, Deutsche Bank, Credit Suisse and HSBC, so I have a detailed understanding of how those institutions work.

I spent the last 10 years of my time at one of the Big 3 Credit Ratings Agencies (Fitch Ratings) as the Chief Operating Officer of the Global Sovereign Ratings team, a role that involved extensive line management responsibilities, including recruitment and the strategic planning of analytical resources. This required me to take a proactive role in developing talent and undertaking regular coaching/mentoring with many individuals to help them fulfil their potential. My career has also involved several unexpected changes of direction, so I understand fully the process of change management from an individual’s perspective. For more seasoned professionals, I also understand and can provide guidance on the qualities and approach needed to reach and sustain a senior position at a global financial organisation.
